Lady Storm pick up first win of season

The MBA Lady Storm picked up their first win of the season with a 5-2 home victory over Worthington, Saturday at the Benson Civic Center. MBA scored three goals in the first period to go up 3-0 and held on for the team’s first victory of 2016-2017.
One night earlier, MBA fell to Luverne, 7-1, despite outshooting the Cardinals 29-25. Overall, the Lady Storm are 1-9.
“The girls played an excellent last two periods against Luverne and carried that through to today’s win over Worthington,” coach Abby Daly said. “We came out ready to play and put some pucks on the net, hammering two goals in within the first two minutes of the game with a third one following shortly after.
“After winning the game, the girls stayed humble and congratulated the other team on a well-fought game, knowing what it’s like to be on the end of a tough loss and having a young group of girls.”
The only game on tap for the Lady Storm this week is a game at Fairmont, Saturday....
