KMS boys should be much improved
The KMS boys basketball team is primed for a breakout season this year after winning just two games last season and one in each of the two previous seasons before that.
The Saints were set to open up the season Friday, Dec. 2 at MACCRAY, followed by a game at Prinsburg CMCS, Tuesday, Dec. 13 and the home opener with Renville County West, Friday, Dec. 16.
Seniors lost to graduation from last year’s team are Preston Mahlum, Ian Caldwell, Vincent Tillman, and Alexander Holtberg. Back to lead the Saints again this year is head coach Matt Fragodt, who will be assisted by Justin Johnson, James Cortez, and Joey Bauman.
This year’s KMS boys varsity roster includes seniors Tanner Rohner and Jorge Zaldivar; juniors Brandon Rasmusson, and Josh Peterson; and sophomores Regan Carlson and Weston Gjerde, Cade Melin, Connor Carlson, Coy Norton, David Finberg, Ethan Hauge, JT Driscoll, Kolby Lindquist, Noah Thorson, and Regan Carlson.
KMS had great balanced scoring last season with five players averaging from 7.3 points to 8.6. Mahlum ended last season with 231 total points, while Gjerde was right behind with 230, Rohner had 222, Peterson had 213, and Rasmusson had 182....
