Judy Rae Rittenour was born October, 30, 1942 at the Swift County Hospital in Benson, the daughter of LeRoy (Corky) and Arlene (Logan) Anderson. She was baptized March 14, 1943 by Dr. Dixon and confirmed June 4, 1967 by Rev. Longley, at the Pilgrim Congregational Church  in Benson. Judy grew up in Benson and graduated from Benson High School with the class of 1960. Following graduation, Judy worked as a nanny in Edina, Minnesota and Northwestern National Life insurance in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

In 1962, Judy was married to Robert Rittenour at the Congregation Church in Richfield, Minnesota with Rev. John Longley officiating. They made their home in Moundsview, Minnesota and later moved to Anoka, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with three daughters: Rhonda Renay, Roberta Rae, and Robin Kay.

Judy worked in Coon Rapids, Minnesota at the Red Owl Grocery Store, School District #1 and Mercy Medical Center, (retiring in 1990). Following Bob’s retirement in 1992, they spent their winters in Largo, Florida and summers at Lake Scandi, Glenwood, Minnesota. After her divorce in 2017, Judy sold her home in Largo, Florida, and moved back to Benson to be closer to her family.

Judy struggled many years with an inherited eye disease. After high school, she attended the Minneapolis Society for the Blind to prepare her for blindness. Among the things she enjoyed were dancing, playing cards, playing BINGO, going to the casino, watching the Twins and Vikings, socializing, and especially spending time with her family and friends. Following her move back to Benson, Judy joined the St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, March 17, 2019. Judy spent much of her adult life dealing with her inherited eye disease of which she became legally blind in one eye and totally blind in the other. She very much appreciated all the help she received from family, neighbors, and friends.

Judy was called from this life on Tuesday morning at Rice Therapy Suites in Willmar, Minnesota. She attained the age of 80 years, four months, and eight days.

Judy is survived by her three daughters, Rhonda (Al) Lundebrek, Roberta (Tona) Rittenour, and Robin (Scott) Rittenour; grandchildren: Nicole, Kayci, Jacob, and Josie; great-grandchildren: Kason, Sawyer, and Sadie; two brothers David and Lars Anderson; an aunt Tootsie Hensch and many cousins. Preceding her in death were her father LeRoy (1971), mother Arlene (2011), grandparents, Ted and Dora (Levitz) Anderson, Edward and Matilda (Christenson) Logan, and several aunts, uncles, and friends.

Blessed be her memory.
