It’s down to the wire for Swift Fishing League after night at Lake Oliver

Lead Summary

The Swift Fishing League held its weekly event at Lake Oliver, Thursday, June 30.  Water and air temps were 74 degrees, with a 22 mph north wind making boat control interesting for those fishing in the whitecaps.  Lake Oliver is split into east and west sides by a county road, with a water access on each side.  The teams were split on both sides of the lake.  Only 5 walleyes were brought to the measuring table.  The big fish point for the night went to sub Corey Joyce for Shake ‘n Bake.  Mike Haas and Corey Joyce measured two walleyes at 25.25” and 20.75” to win the event with 13 points.  Marble Eyes (Nathan Thompson and Bob Hoberg) came in second with a 24.25” walleye and 7 points.  Nathan had a wrestling match in the parking lot with his fish while trying to get it measured.  Based on the accompanying picture, we think Nathan won, but we’re not sure.  Taking third place and earning 5 points were the Old Pole Benders (Bruce Bernardy and Pat McGeary) bringing in a 19.75” walleye...
