Richard Frederick Moesenthin, 76, of Benson, Minnesota died Sunday, July 14, 2024, in Benson.  There will be a Celebration of Life September 28 at the Benson Golf Club from 4-8 p.m.  
Rick was born March 4, 1948, in Virginia, MN to William & Margaret (Granross) Moesenthin.   He grew up in Virginia, graduating from Virginia High School in 1967. He continued his education at St. Cloud State University, receiving a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education in 1973. That same year, the family moved to Benson. Rick worked as a third and fourth grade teacher in the Benson school district.
Rick thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  He enjoyed his time as a coach of several sports, watching his granddaughter play volleyball, basketball and softball.  He loved spending time on the deck looking out over the back yard, watching the “Price is Right”, the “Golf Channel” as well as spending time out and about with friends. Rick spent his life in the education of children for more than 30 years as a classroom teacher and several other years as a substitute teacher.  He thoroughly enjoyed the students he taught over the years.  It brought him great joy.  
Rick leaves behind his son Kirk Moesenthin of Benson, granddaughter Ellie Moesenthin of Benson;  six siblings: Bill Moesenthin of Toledo, OH, Barbie Carlson of Eveleth, MN, Joan Braun of Bloomington, MN, Jerry Moesenthin of Virginia, MN, Jack Moesenthin of Virginia, MN and Jane Moesenthin of Duluth MN; nieces and nephews: Jerick Moesenthin of St Louis, MO, Jamie Alexander of Duluth, MN, Mandy Moesenthin of Weatherford, TX, Anthony Moesenthin of Maunee, OH, Jenny Stenk, of Superior, WI, Jesse Carlson of Apple Valley, MN, Steven Braun of Boston, MA, Mars Braun of Boston, MA, Matthew Moesenthin of Virginia, MN; and many friends.  Rick was preceded in  death by his wife Sandy (LoPresti) Moesenthin, parents William and Margaret Moesenthin, James Moesenthin, and Danny Moesenthin.
