Dori Schwendemann Ann, 69, of Starbuck, Minnesota, passed away July 27, 2024. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. with a memorial service at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, September 8, 2024, at Evangelical Free Church in Benson, Minnesota.
Dori Schwendemann Ann was born July 5, 1955, in Benson, the daughter of Walter V. and Irene Alice (Heidemann) Schwendemann. She grew up and attended school in the area, graduating from Kerkhoven High School. Dori went on to attend Southwest Minnesota State University where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics. She later became a MENSA member.
Dori worked as an engineer. She started out fixing main frame computers and retired as an engineer inspector of parts.
After retiring, Dori moved to Starbuck and worked part-time as a real estate agent. She then worked part-time at Glacial Lakes State Park during the summer and as a substitute teacher during the school year.
Dori enjoyed traveling, camping, and eating out with friends. She tried to visit all the Minnesota State Parks and walk all the trails they had. She also enjoyed crafts, board games, cards, cooking, and baking. She would cook a full meal at the church for widows on Valentine’s Day.
Dori was called from this life July 27, 2024, at CentraCare – St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota. She was 69 years old.
Dori is survived by her three siblings: Kay Owens, Tim Schwendemann, and Wayne Schwendemann; four nieces and nephews: Joshua Owens, Jonathan Owens, Bridget Schwendemann, and Travis Schwendemann. She was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Alice Schwendemann.
