Beatrice Thompson died Sat., January 10, 2026 at Scandi Haven in Benson at the age of 91.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, January 15, 2026 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Benson. Rev. David Boumgarn will officiate and interment will be in the Benson Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 14 from 5-7:00 p.m. at Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson and at the church for one hour before the service Thursday.

Beatrice Irene (Hoffman) Thompson was born June 6, 1934 in Fairfield Township, Swift County, Minnesota,  the daughter of August and Blanche (Chase) Hoffman. She graduated from Benson High School in 1952. She was united in marriage with Robert Thompson October 7, 1953 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church. They were blessed with three children and 57 years of marriage. She was a very good seamstress and made dresses and did alterations for many years. Bea also worked as a cook for the Benson Public Schools for 43 years. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and the Swift County Historical Society. She also enjoyed sewing, crafts, and gardening.

She is survived by three children: Susan (Ray) Brackman of St. Paul, Alan (Wanda Schmigdall) Thompson of Benson, and Linda Thompson; two sisters: Darlene Hoffman of Ramsey and JoAnn (Joe) Bieker of Ramsey; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents: August and Blanche Hoffman; her in-laws: Fred and Charlotte Thompson; her husband, Robert in 2011; a sister, Balance Hoffman; and five brothers: Stanley, Dennis, Marcel, Gary and Lowell.
