Benson’s 92nd annual Kid Day celebration is this week.

It started with the medallion hunt kickoff Monday and continues each day through Friday, or until the Medallion is found.  The clues will be available daily on the front door of the Library, on KSCR from 7-9 a.m. each day, and on the Benson Kid Day Facebook page.  The top prize for the youth who finds the Kid Day Medallion is $100.

CLIMB Theatre was scheduled to present “The Ant and the Grasshopper” in Roosevelt Park at 11 a.m. Wednesday.

Krazy Daze in Benson is set to take place Thursday with local businesses offering sidewalk sales and special offers.  Thursday also features Benson Market/Craft vendors in the downtown Railroad Park from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Each year the highlight of the annual Kid Day celebration is the parade featuring kids dressing up in costumes – sometimes accompanied by adults also in matching outfits. Line-up for this parade starts at 9:15 a.m. at the Benson High School with participants expected to be on site by 9:30.

The parade will start at 10 a.m. Saturday traveling from the high school south down 13th Street/Minnesota Highway 9, then going a block west on Atlantic Avenue, and then turn back south heading to the high school on 14th Street/Minnesota Highway 29.
