Highway 9 detours in effect July 8 east of Benson

Lead Summary

by Reed Anfinson, Editor
Motorists on Minnesota Highway 9 between Benson and Minnesota Highway 104 just west of Sunburg will encounter a detour and delays when a road resurfacing and bridge replacement project begins July 8, weather permitting.
Road construction crews plan to resurface 17 miles of Highway 9 and replace the Mud Creek bridge two miles east of Benson.
During the project, Highway 9 will close, and motorists will detour to U.S. Highway 12 and Kandiyohi County Road 7.
Residents who live within the road closure will be allowed to use Highway 9 during the project, except at Mud Creek.
The road work is expected to be completed by late September, weather permitting.
