Swift County Monitor - Staff Photo -

The Minnesota Department of Transportation will reopen Highway 12, west of Benson, by noon on Thursday, Sept. 21.

The roadway has been closed and detoured since May while MnDOT replaced and/or repaired three bridges on Highway 12 between Benson and Highway 59. Motorists should continue to watch for workers along Highway 12 as cleanup and other miscellaneous work is completed.

Visit the project website at mndot.gov/d4/projects/hwy12bridges to learn more.

In addition, Highway 29 remains closed between County Road 22 and Highway 9, as crews replace the bridge over the Chippewa River, north of Benson. Due to material delays, the bridge replacement is now expected to wrap up in mid-October. Motorists should continue to follow the detour on County Road 22 and Highway 9.
