Gymnasts top Litchfield for second win
Libby McGeary, Lexie Hoberg, and Elise Duncan led the Benson-KMS gymnastics team to another win as the Fighting Braves beat Litchfield in a meet in Benson, Thursday night, 136.8-130.8.
McGeary earned first in the all-around and also won three individual events, while Hoberg placed second in the all-around, and Duncan earned a victory on the beam.
The gymnasts were set to compete at Melrose, Thursday (tomorrow) and at New London-Spicer, Tuesday, Dec. 21 before taking a break for the holidays.
BKMS 136.8, Litchfield 130.8
A three-point edge on the balance beam helped the Benson-KMS gymnasts earn their second win of the season with a 136.8-130.8 victory over Litchfield, Thursday in the Benson Athletic Center.
Libby McGeary placed first in the all-around with a 36.55 score, while also winning the vault (9.2), bars (9.1), and floor exercise (9.4) and placing second on the beam (8.85).
Lexie Hoberg had a personal best in the all-around to place second with a score of 32.825. She was also fourth on the bars (7.925) and floor exercise (8.65) and fifth on the beam (7.7).
Elise Duncan earned another individual title for the Fighting Braves, placing first on the balance beam (9.05) where Benson-KMS earned four of the top five placings.
Taylor Rohner-Swart added a second on the bars (8.225), while Torie Andrews was third on the vault (8.675) and third on the floor (8.7), Hannah Rosen was fourth on the beam (8.2), and Gwen Wilcox tied for fifth on the floor (8.55).
Benson-KMS topped Litchfield on all four events, including a three-point edge on the beam and 1.5 points on the bars.
Litchfield’s top three gymnasts placed third, fourth, and fifth in the all-around with all-around scores withing a half-point of each other.
