Gunderson first at Big Lake Tourney

The KMS wrestling team opened up the new season at the Big Lake Invitational.  The Saints had only nine wrestlers take part in the very tough tourney, but still walked away with fifth place out of eight teams.
Royalton-Upsala won the meet by 2.5 points over the hosts (207-204.5), while Minnewaska Area was third with 168 points.
Trey Gunderson, ranked first at 106 pounds in Class A to begin the season, went 3-0 to place first for the Saints at 106 pounds.
Noah Johnson (120 pounds), Coy Gunderson (160), and Masyn Olson (195) were all second, while Jason Jones went 2-1 at 285 pounds to place third.
In addition, Jett Olson was 2-1 at 152 pounds to place fourth, while Ely Johnson (145), Aaron Jones (170) and Collin Johnson (22) were all sixth.
The Saints were set to wrestle at the Worthington Invitational, Thursday (tomorrow) for its only competition of the week.  The following week, KMS has triangulars set for Tuesday, Dec. 14 and Thursday, Dec. 16.
