Girls tennis team to open up season, Saturday

The Benson-KMS girls tennis team is set to get the 2021 season underway Saturday, Aug. 21 with a home triangular involving Pipestone and Luverne.

The Fighting Braves ended last season with a 7-6 overall record, which included a third-place finish in the Section 6A Tournament.  There was no state tournament last year for the team and no individual section tournament, so the section team tournament was the final competition for the girls tennis team last year.

Benson-KMS beat MACCRAY (7-0) to open up the section tournament before losing to top-seeded Osakis in the next round (6-1).  Benson-KMS then avenged two earlier losses to Morris Area-WCA with a 4-3 victory over the Tigers in the third-place match to end the season...
