Five BHS graduates to play college sports

Benson High School student-athletes continue to graduate from high school and go on to play sports in college. This year’s BHS Class of 2020 is no exception, although it’s pretty rare that not one, but five student-athletes out of a class of about 60 students will be playing college sports, including three that will be playing college volleyball.
Set to compete at the college level are Claire Ricard in volleyball at St. Thomas, Kaitlyn Berreau in girls basketball at Bethany Lutheran, Jacob Wolter in football at NDSCS, Abbie Mitteness in volleyball at NDSCS, and Mariah Ahrndt in volleyball at Concordia College.
All five had great high school sports careers, while also excelling in the classroom, concert stage, and around the community. College is different though, not only because of the increased skill level of teammates and opponents, but also because of the move away from home, tougher academic requirements, and many other factors...
