Drought worsens complicating harvest

As drought conditions worsen in western Minnesota, the harvest has become more challenging. Sunday the Benson Fire Department was called to a corn field fire northeast of the city as winds gusted to 36 mph.
Hot machinery in the field can ignite dry crops, with the situation rapidly getting out of control when smoldering chaff is fanned by strong winds.
