Drought eases; thin ice is dangerous

With 2.45 inches of precipitation since Nov. 8, Swift County has seen an easing of drought conditions, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor map.
The Nov. 8 drought map showed the western 80% of Swift County in a severe drought and the eastern 20% in a moderate drought. Nearly all of Stevens and Chippewa counties were also in a severe drought as was the southwestern third of Pope County.
