Doris Molden, 86, of Benson, died Monday, January 13, 2014 at the Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck.
The funeral service for Doris Molden was held Saturday, January 18, 2014, at 11:00 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church in Benson with Pastor Paul Idstrom officiating. Marg Friedlein was the organist and accompanied the congregation in singing “On Eagles Wings” and “The Old Rugged Cross”. Dick Dandurdend sang “Go Rest High on That Mountain”.
Honorary Bearers were all of Doris’ relatives and friends. Casketbearers were Terry Rohloff, Zach Rohloff, Todd Rohloff, Travis Collins, Troy Collins, Mike Molden, and Zach Molden.
Interment was in the Benson City Cemetery.
Doris Lorraine Molden was born in Swift County July 10, 1927 to William and Inga (Randen) Christenson. She was baptized August 10, 1927, and confirmed November 2, 1941, at Drywood United Lutheran Church and grew up in Swift County. She attended school through the eighth grade in Hegbert Township.
September 17, 1944, she was united in marriage to Warren Molden at the Big Bend Lutheran parsonage. They lived in Morris, Hancock and Benson for several years. Doris had many different jobs and was bookkeeper for Molden Repair Shop for many years. She was currently a resident at the Minnewaska Lutheran Home. Doris was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Benson. She was very proud of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Doris enjoyed reading, cross word puzzles, fishing, and camping.
Doris died Monday morning, January 13, at the Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck. She had attained 86 years, six months, and three days of age.
She is survived by three children: JoAnn (Rohloff) Vergin, James (Linda) Molden, and Jackie (Jody) Collins all of Benson; 11 grandchildren: Terry (Heidi) Rohloff, Todd Rohloff, Michelle (Rob) Lee, Mike (Teresa) Molden, Melissa (Scott) Schwendemann, Tammy Harthun, Troy Collins, Travis Collins, Trista Collins, Kelly (Mitch) Peterson, and Korey Molden; 22 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Vivian Heinecke, of Appleton; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Warren, November 7, 1990; son Gerald in 2011; son-in-law Jerry Rohloff in 1985; two sisters: Alice Skjei and infant sister Vivian; two brothers: Willard and Harry Christenson; and sisters-and-brothers-in-law.
