Cross-country teams open up season
The Benson-KMS boys and girls cross-country teams are set to open up their seasons Monday, Aug. 25 at the Morris Invitational followed by the Lac qui Parle Invitational, Thursday, Aug. 28. Coming up later in the year is the Benson Invitational, set for Monday, Oct. 6 on the Benson Golf Course.
The cross-country teams are coached by CeCe Terlouw and volunteer assistant, Micah Driscoll. This year’s boys cross-country roster includes seniors Taner Gimberlin, Matt Hoffman, and Nick Turnquist; junior Samuel Rosemeier; sophomores Devin Bundy, Jacob Webster, Josh Bailey, Philipp Weber, and Riley Johnston; ninth-grader Jacob Narragon; and eighth-graders Brady Ascheman, Dylan Stewart, Ethan Peters, Henry Dammeyer, JT Driscoll, and JayEven McGee.
The boys team lost four members of last year’s team -- Grant Molden, Isaac Zurn, Zach Maurer, and Joe Eix -- but should still have a chance to place high at meets thanks to the return of its top runner, Josh Bailey.
• The girls team meanwhile, lost Bethany Rosemeier, Hannah Weber, Leah Tessem, Emily Tostenson, Kelly Saunders, and Ingrid Ahlsen.
