Cross-country teams both second at opening meet at Minnewaska

The Benson-KMS cross-country teams competed in their first race of the season last Tuesday at the Minnewaska Golf Club near Glenwood.
The Benson-KMS cross-country teams opened up the fall practice schedule Monday, Aug. 17, at Ambush Park, and continued to practice each day to prepare for the season opener at Minnewaska Area.
Back to lead the team are head coach Samantha VanHeuveln and assistant coach Bjorn Bakke, who lost only two seniors to graduation (Will Magaard and Allie Mitteness) although they were both among the leaders for their respective teams.
Both Benson-KMS cross-country teams placed second as Minnewaska Area won both meets by six points over the Benson-KMS boys and by 15 points over the Benson-KMS girls. Morris Area-CA placed third in both events...
