Cross-country teams announce awards

The Benson-KMS cross-country teams had a very successful season with the boys team wining five-straight meets during the middle of the season and the girls team placing second at five meets, including a tie for second in the WCC Cross-Country Meet.

“It didn’t go as well as we had hoped at sections, but overall, it was a great season and we are looking forward to all the great things they will do next season,” coach Samantha VanHeuveln said following the section meets.

Possibly the most exciting memory from the cross-country season is the boys team’s WCC title, which came down to a sprint toward the finish by Jacob Stallings, who passed two runners at the end to give Benson-KMS the team title by one point over Melrose Area...
