Swift County will contract for an additional two weeks of Abdo Financial Solution’s time to help it get through its audit and the start of the 2024 budget planning while short-staffed.

Last month, the county agreed to hire Abdo to financial assistance for six weeks despite the hefty price tag over more than $5,160 per week. It’s bill for the six-week period was going to be over $30,000.

While it has been able to hire a second financial technician in May, that person is just learning the job and the county is still short a finance manager. The finance manager takes on a lot of the duties for the former county auditor position.

Swift County Administrator Tessa Tomaschett told the county board Clifton-Larson-Allen (CLA) starts its audit June 5 and that is when they are on site at the courthouse.
