Collins, Haats earn All-Camden honors

Lead Summary

The KMS volleyball team started off slow in 2021, but went on to win seven of its final 16 matches to finish the season 8-21, which included a 0-11 record in the always-tough Camden Conference.  The KMS volleyball team swept Ashby in the opening round of the Section 6A Volleyball Tournament, but then fell to second-seeded Wheaton/Herman-Norcross two days later in four games to end its season.
MACCRAY won this year’s Camden North title with a 9-2 league record, followed by Prinsburg (7-4), RCW (5-6), Dawson-Boyd (3-8), Lac qui Parle (2-9), and KMS (0-11).
Minneota, which earned the Camden South title with an 11-0 record, beat MACCRAY in three games for the overall Camden title.  In second place in the Camden South was Canby (9-2), followed by Tracy Area (8-3), RTR (7-4), YME (4-7), and Lakeview (1-10).
KMS had a particularly-good season in tournaments.  The Saints competed at the Browerville, SMSU, and Underwood Tournaments, going 1-3 at Browerville, 3-2 at SMSU, and 2-2 at Underwood for a 6-7 record in those three competitions.  In best-of-five matches, KMS was 2-14, including a 0-3 record in matches decided in five games, losing to Lakeview, Kimball Area, and YME in a match the Sting rallied by winning the final three games.
