Cleo E. Moist, 88, of DeGraff, Minnesota died Thursday, January 16, 2025 at his home near DeGraff. His funeral service will be held at Pilgrim Congregational United Church of Christ in Benson,  Tuesday, January 21 at 1 p.m. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Cleo Edward Moist was born February 14, 1936, to Oliver and Ethel (Conrad) Moist in Benson, Minnesota. September 23, 1966, Cleo was united in marriage to Merna Mathis at Pilgrim Congregational Church of Christ. The couple had three children and raised them on a hobby farm in Kildare Township.
Cleo loved working on the farm and spending time with his family. His favorite animals on the farm were his Scottish Highlander Cattle and enjoyed working on his old equipment. Every year he would have a big garden on the farm. Cleo also enjoyed building sheds whenever he could ever get his hands on some old lumber. In his spare time, he liked to carve little ducks and geese out of wood and go hunting and fishing. Cleo also worked as a Shear Operator at Tyler – Case for 37 years.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Merna of DeGraff; children: Daniel (Andrea) Moist of DeGraff and Lorie (Scott) Hall of Wood Lake; six grandchildren, Christopher Moist, Daniel Hall, Zacharih (Aleah) Moist, Mackenzie Moist, Christian Moist, and Domminick Moist; brother, David; and half-sisters, Judy and Elaine.
Cleo was preceded in death by his son, Keith; and other siblings and half-siblings.
Arrangements were made by Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar.
