Caution urged as avian influenza spreads north

Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) is likely making its way towards Minnesota. 
As more cases of the deadly avian disease that can lead to the deaths of tens of thousands of chickens and turkeys are detected in the Upper Midwest, poultry farmers are urged to take preventative measures now.
Minnesota has over 500 commercial turkey operations and more than 3,000 poultry farms, according to the USDA.
