Carol Dokken

Carol Dokken, 85, of Benson, Minnesota died Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at the Sanford Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.,  Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at the First Evangelical Free Church in Benson, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. The burial will be in the East Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Kidney Foundation.

Carol Ann Dokken was born November 6, 1937, the daughter of Anton and Lillie Oyen Haldorson in Pope County, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at West Zion Lutheran Church, Hancock. She worked at various places and did babysitting for many years.

December 27, 1961, Carol was united in marriage to Curtis Dokken in Morris, Minnesota. This union was blessed with over 46 years of marriage. She went with Curtis to Hawaii from 1961 to 1963 while he was serving in the United States Army. They came back to Minnesota and settled in Benson, where they continued to live. Carol is survived by her two sisters: Ruth and Rita, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Anton and Lillie Haldorson, her husband Curtis Dokken,  October 08, 2008, and a sister.
