Calls and Rudningen among leaders for Saints in 2020-21
The 2020-21 season did not go as planned for the KMS boys basketball team. The Saints went 4-5 over their last nine games to end the regular season with a 6-12 overall record. The Saints were seeded seventh in their half of Section 6A and were set to host 10th-seeded Ortonville in the opening round of the tournament.
However, a MACCRAY player came down with COVID-19 one day after the Saints played the Wolverines, March 11, forcing KMS to quarantine most of its team and end up having to cancel the rest of the season.
The abrupt ending to the season comes only three-plus months after the KMS football season was also cut short before the playoffs due to COVID-19.
• Lac qui Parle and Prinsburg tied for this year’s Camden North title with 14-2 league marks, followed by Renville County West (11-5), MACCRAY (8-8), KMS (5-11), and Dawson-Boyd (3-13).
