Braves win 4A opener, but fall in semifinals

Mayer Lutheran scored 20 points in the first quarter on the way to a 39-14 victory over Benson in the Section 4A semifinals, Saturday at Crown College in St. Bonafacius.

The Braves stayed fairly even with Mayer Lutheran after the opening period, but the damage had already been done and Benson’s season ended with a 3-7 overall record...
