Braves top KMS in battle of Swift County

The Benson boys basketball team split a pair of games last week with KMS and Melrose.  The Braves opened up the week with a 64-39 non-conference win over KMS last Monday night in Benson, but then lost at WCC-leading Melrose Area, Thursday, 82-60.
The Braves are 3-9 overall and 1-5 in the WCC after last week’s action and heading into two-straight weeks with three games each.
This week, Benson was set to host Sauk Centre, Tuesday and Hancock, Thursday before going on the road for a game at BOLD, Friday.
Benson senior Layton Connelly has an unofficial 168 points this year, giving him an unofficial 959 points heading into this week’s action.  With 41 more points, he’ll become the sixth boy at BHS to reach 1,000 career points....
