Braves dominate second half on way to 33-7 win over H-F

Lead Summary

For the second-straight week the Benson football team scored over 30 points and earned a victory.  And, for the first time since early in the 2012 season, the Braves sport a winning record after improving to 2-1 overall.

After having its game with Parkers Prairie called off due to COVID-19 at PP, the Braves played at Hinckley-Finlayson, Friday night, and Benson took advantage of the opportunity by turning a 13-7 halftime lead into a 33-7 victory.

Thomas Dineen had 180 yards rushing, Cole Hedman passed for 72 yards, and Abe Peterson had four receptions for 78 yards, one interception for a touchdown and also was third on the team with four tackles.

“Our guys did a great job of adjusting all week to everything,” coach Adam Foslien said.  “There were many unknowns this week, but lots of memories will come out of this game.  Plus, getting home at 1:15 a.m. is much easier after a win.”

Benson is now set to play at Browerville-Eagle Valley this Friday at 4 p.m. in Sauk Centre...
