Boys tennis team seeded third in Section 8A

The Benson-KMS boys tennis team ended the regular-season with a pair of victories at a home triangular, Friday, beating Yellow Medicine East (5-2) and Osakis (6-1). Earlier in the week, the Fighting Braves fell to state-ranked Litchfield, 7-0.
Benson-KMS ended the regular season with a perfect 5-0 mark in the WCC and a 12-4 overall record.
Although the Fighting Braves went 5-0 in the conference, the season-ending WCC Team Tourney is what decided the overall conference champion this year, and Minnewaska Area beat BKMS, 6-1, to earn this year’s conference title.
The Braves earned the third seed on the upcoming Section 8A Boys Team Tennis Tournament, set for Monday at East Grand Forks. Thief River Falls earned the top seed, followed by Minnewaska, Benson-KMS, Fergus Falls, East Grand Forks, Crookston, Perham, and Osakis.
Benson-KMS fell to Crookston in the first round, 4-3, and Crookston lost to Minnewaska Area in the semifinals, 4-3, putting the Lakers and TRF in the Section 8A finals.
The Section 8A Individual Tennis Tournament is set for Tuesday and Wednesday (today)...
