Boys golf earns Section 5A title and trip to state

The Benson boys golf team earned a trip to state after winning the Section 5A Golf Finals last Wednesday at Eagle Creek Golf Course in Willmar.

The Braves led by five strokes after the first 18 holes the previous Wednesday, and Benson expanded that to 12 strokes by the end of the competition.  Benson had a 349 total both days for a 698 total, while RCW was second at 710, Lakeview third at 715, and BBE fourth with a 721 total.

The team berth at state is a first for the Benson boys golf team since 1978...
