Berens, Cain, Doscher named to All-WCC team

The Benson volleyball team finished the 2020 season with an overall record of 4-8 after beating West Central Area in a three-game sweep at home to close out the season.  The Braves, who were 3-6 in the WCC,  started the season off 3-1, but then lost seven-straight matches before the season-ending win over WCA.

In the final WCC volleyball standings, only two teams finished the season with above-.500 records.  Sauk Centre finished as the top team with a 4-1 record, followed by Melrose Area (7-2), BOLD and Minnewaska Area (both 4-5), Morris Area-CA (4-6), Montevideo (2-3) and Benson (3-6).

It still hasn’t been decided whether Sauk Centre will be awarded the WCC title or not.  SC beat Melrose in their only meeting this fall, 3-0, while Melrose also lost a five-game match to Montevideo...
