Benson wrestlers win title at BOLD triangular

The Benson wrestling team opened up the season with a pair of wins at the BOLD triangular, Saturday.  The meet had been scheduled for Friday, but was pushed back a day due to weather.

The Braves beat Paynesville (51-29) and BOLD (47-30), while Paynesville beat BOLD for second place, 48-30.  There were a total of 11 matches that were forfeits during the two matches, including seven against Paynesville.

During the win over BOLD, Benson trailed 24-23 before Nathan Bolduc and Adam Zosel had back-to-back first-minute pins to put the Braves ahead for good.

Next up for the Braves, coached by Scott Thompson, is the Melrose triangular, Thursday (tomorrow) followed by a triangular at Osakis, Thursday, Jan. 28...
