Benson volleyball team picks up win at tourney

The Benson volleyball team broke a long losing streak at the Jimmy John’s Volleyball Tournament at Marshall, Friday and Saturday, but the Braves also lost two WCC matches during the week to fall to 1-7 in the conference.

The Braves, who are 4-18 overall after last week’s action, were shut out by Minnewaska Area last Monday night at home, and Benson also fell by a shutout at Montevideo last Tuesday night.

During the Jimmy John’s Tourney, Benson went 0-3 in pool play before splitting its final two matches, including a 2-1 win over Montevideo and a 2-0 loss to Red Rock Central.

The Braves have two matches scheduled for this week, including a non-conference match at ACGC, Tuesday (yesterday), and a match at Morris Area-CA, Thursday (tomorrow)...
