Benson softball should be strong

The 2019 Benson softball team ended the season with a 5-12 overall record, which included a 5-9 record within the WCC.  Benson had its season end with a 4-2 loss to New London-Spicer in the opening round of the Section 3AA Softball Tournament.
Benson was set to open up the season Thursday, April 8 at Sauk Centre, but that game was postponed to Monday, April 12.  The home opener is Tuesday, April 13 (yesterday) at home against Morris Area-CA followed by another home game with Melrose Area, Thursday, April 15.
“This year, we’ve had some really solid days of practice and the kids are looking very good,” coach Barb Schwarz said.  “We also have a great coaching staff with Jeff Guest as the JV coach, Mackenzie Jensen taking the lead at junior high, Maria Hanson helping out at all levels, and Melinda Wrobleski working with pitchers and catchers on varsity.”  ...
