Benson Legion ends year 8-4; Kerk Legion ends season at “Final Four”

The Benson Express Legion baseball team lost its first two playoff games during Kid Day weekend in Benson and ended the season with an 8-4 overall record.

The Legion, coached by Mark Grussing, started off 8-0 before losing their final two regular-season games to Marshall (10-4) and Granite Falls (10-0).

Before that, Benson outscored its opponents 66-27 in starting out 8-0.

In the playoffs, Benson fell to Morris Area in the first round (8-4) and Hancock in the consolation bracket (6-4)...
