Benson girls tennis captains’ practice to start this week

Captains practice for the Benson girls tennis team is set to begin Monday, Aug. 7 from 8-11 a.m. and is set to run each day at that time through Friday, Aug. 11 for players in grades 9-12 at the Benson High School tennis courts.
This year’s captains are seniors Emma Heinzig and Grace Arnold.
The Benson girls tennis team went 16-3 overall last year and 7-1 to place second in the WCC, but the team graduated eight key seniors from last year’s team.
Only three players return from last year’s team that saw at least one match at the varsity level -- juniors Olivia Hoffman (24-1), Sophia Curriel (18-2), and Gracie Lenz (5-2).  Other returning letterwinners from last year are Heinzig and Arnold, and juniors Brenna Knutson and Anna Samuelson.
 •  Varsity practice for  the girls tennis team is set to take place from 9 a.m.-noon, Monday, Aug. 14 at the high school courts and will take place every day from 9 a.m.-noon the first week through Friday, Aug. 18.  In addition, there will be two night practices from .........
