Benson baseball team wins first two games

The Benson baseball team opened up the season in impressive style, beating two strong area teams during the season openers, Thursday and Friday.  The Braves, coming off a 6-11 season from two springs ago, shut out Morris Area-CA, 13-0, during the season opener at Morris, and then rallied to edge Lac qui Parle in the home opener one day later, 6-5.
Benson, coached by Mark Grussing, Tom Foley, and John Reardon, was set to host Melrose Area, Tuesday (yesterday) before competing at West Central Area, Friday, and playing a doubleheader at Minnewaska Area, Tuesday, April 27.

The Benson baseball team opened up the season with a 13-0 rout of Morris Area-CA, Thursday night in Morris.  Sam Lenarz and Cole Hedman combined for a one-hitter on the mound, while Patrick Minchow led the defense, going 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
