Benson and KMS wrestlers come home with medals
Thomas Dineen and Adam Zosel competed at the State Wrestling Tournament for the Braves, Friday and Saturday at the Excel Energy Center in St. Paul.
Dineen, a freshman, went 3-2 to place fifth at 182 pounds, while Zosel, a junior, went 0-1 at 152 pounds and was eliminated after the person he lost to fell in the quarterfinals.
Zosel went over 100 career wins this season and ended his junior year of wrestling with a 33-4 record. He goes into his senior season with an unofficial 103-42 career mark, currently the 12th most wins for the Braves among the 14 100-win wrestlers.
Dineen meanwhile, finished 41-3 this year and will go into his sophomore season with an unofficial 59 career victories with an outside shot of reaching 100 career wins during his sophomore season.
Dineen earned his state berth by winning the Section 5A 182-pound title with a pin in the finals against the top-seeded wrestler, while Zosel finished second at 152 pounds during the section tourney...
