Avian flu makes late October return in county, state

After it appeared the avian influenza was waning in Minnesota, a new outbreak has claimed another 128,676 turkeys in the state.  A backyard flock of 33 fowl were also infected.
And, after not seeing a case of avian flu since April 28, Swift County has lost another 33,763 turkeys. Five sites have now been infected by the deadly avian virus, four commercial turkey sites and one backyard flock.
