SWIFT COUNTY HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT Request for Bids

NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS –

  The Swift County Highway Department is requesting BIDS for the following items until:

10:00 AM Wednesday September 25th 2019

GRAVEL PROCESSING

  Production and stockpiling of approximately 45,000 cubic yards of Class 5 aggregate within Swift County for use
 on the County Road System.

  Specifications and detailed information for each item can be obtained from the Swift County Highway Administration Building, 1635 Hoban Avenue, PO Box 241, Benson, MN 56215.  Sealed bids will then be opened and publicly read at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, September 25th 2019 at the Swift County Highway Administration Building, 1635 Hoban Avenue, Benson, MN 56215.

SWIFT COUNTY BOARD MINUTES August 20, 2019

Chairman Hendrickx called the meeting to order at 9:00 AM. with all members present. Also present: County Administrator Kelsey Baker, County Attorney Danielle Olson, Terri Orr, other county employees and members of the public.

Joe Tschida took the Oath of the County Assessor.

Chairman Hendrickx asked if there were any changes or additions to the agenda. Chairman Hendrickx had one change to add a Fiscal Agent Agreement under Catie Lee’s Human Service update. There were no other changes.  

08-20-19-01 Commissioner Fox moved and Commissioner E. Pederson seconded to approve the agenda as amended. Motion carried unanimously.

EXHIBIT A NOTICE OF INTENT TO ISSUE FACILITIES MAINTENANCE BONDS TO FINANCE PROJECTS INCLUDED IN THE DISTRICT’S TEN-YEAR FACILITY PLAN INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 777 (BENSON PUBLIC SCHOOLS) STATE OF MINNESOTA

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the School Board of Independent School District No. 777, State of Minnesota (the "District"), adopted a resolution (the "Resolution") on September 3, 2019, stating the intention of the School Board to issue its general obligation facilities maintenance bonds (the "Bonds") in the total principal amount of not to exceed $3,200,000 pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Section 123B.595 and Chapter 475, as amended.  The proceeds of the Bonds will be used to fund the costs of the following projects at various School District facilities as included in the District's approved ten-year facility plan and related financing costs:

• indoor air quality projects

The total amount of District indebtedness as of May 1, 2019, is $25,365,000.  If these proposed Bonds were issued after that date, the total indebtedness of the District at that time would be $28,565,000.

Chairman Hendrickx asked if there were any changes or additions to the agenda. Chair Hendrickx had one change to switch Liz Auch and Scott Collins on the agenda times. There were no other changes.  

08-06-19-01 Commissioner P. Peterson moved and Commissioner E. Pederson seconded to approve the agenda as amended. Motion carried unanimously.

MINUTES OF THE REGULAR SCHOOL BOARD MEETING/WORK SESSION INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 777, Benson, Minnesota Monday, August 5, 2019 - 5:30 p.m. McKinney’s Conference Room

Meeting called to order at 5:31 p.m. by Chair Brian Samuelson.  Members present:  Jim Berens, Mary Langan, Bill McGeary, Eric Peterson, Brian Samuelson. Members absent: Paul Carruth, Gary Williams. 

Approved the Agenda and Consent Agenda.  

No bid received for bid category #3, steel, for the Northside construction project so bids were re-released. Breitbach recommends the low bidder, Briese Iron Works.

Awarded low bidder, Briese Iron Works, Bid Category #3 (steel supplier) in the amount of $206,900 and unit price $2,320 for the NS construction bid package.

A lease agreement for the north end of the civic center was reviewed and discussed.

Principal Johnson gave a State of the School Address for grades PK-5 and shared three strategic goals for the upcoming school year.

Principal Knutson gave a State of the School Address for grades 6-12 and presented three strategic goals for 2019-2020 school year.
