Swift County residents and local governments will soon be looking for a new site to get rid of demolition debris and likely paying significantly more money in the process.

As of Oct. 1, the Geyer Demolition Landfill west of Swift Falls will be closing under an agreement with the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA.) The landfill is owned and operated by Dennis “Fuzzy” Geyer. It takes in demolition debris from houses, barns, sheds, and other structures.
