JoAnn Sandra Kurkosky, 65, of Benson, Minn., passed peacefully in her home, Monday, March 16, 2020. A memorial service will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are with Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson.

 

JoAnn Sandra Kurkosy was born October 13, 1954 in Montevideo, Minnesota, the daughter of Robert and MaryAnn (Eidenshink) Wrobleski.   She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith and grew up in the DeGraff and Benson area.  On July 16, 1988, JoAnn was united in marriage to Gary David Kurkosky.  This union was blessed with more than 33 years of marriage.  They lived in Miami, Florida and Benson, Minnesota.  JoAnn was a Certified Nursing Assistant and through the years she worked at the Benson Liquor Store, the DeGraff Liquor Store, Parkview Manor, Westwood Manor, New Beginnings, and Swift County Homes.  JoAnn taking care of her grandkids, drawing, sewing, pedicures with her grandkids, baking and cooking, going on casino trips with family, and watching and cheering for the Vikings. 

 

JoAnn was called from this life on March 16, 2020, at her home.  She attained the age of 65 years, 5 months, and 3 days.  She is survived by her 5 children: Jeannette Ruffin and Bobby Ruffin of Las Vegas, NV, Alissandra (Russell) Kurkosky- Nelson, Brandon Kurkosky, and Brianna Kurkosky of Benson, MN; 11 grandchildren: Tasia, Lilly, Jeannecia, Jakai, Dallas, Avayah, Braylah, Hailey, Andon, Emiree, and Ezrah; siblings: Robert Wrobleski of Beardstown, IL, MaryAnn Wrobleski of Phoenix, AZ, Jane (Chuck) Woods of DeGraff, MN, Rose Mary Wrobleski of Benson, Linda (Gerald) Kurkosky of Benson, Joan (David) Lantz of Tolono, IL, and Darlene (Dave) Miller of Slayton, MN. 

 

JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Kurkosky on November 8, 2003; daughter, Kayla; 4 brothers: August, Leo, Alfred, and Fred; 3 sisters: Louise, Betty, and Pauline; grandchild, Tyrese; and niece, Brenda.  Blessed be the memory of JoAnn Sandra Kurkosky.
