KMS girls open up season with two wins

The KMS girls basketball team opened up the 2018-19 season with a pair of wins.  The Saints, who were 7-21 overall last season, beat Atwater-CGC to open up the season, Thursday, 64-43, and also won at home against Dawson-Boyd the next night, 55-42.

Taking over as head coach of the program is Justin Johnson, who takes over for Brady DeBaere.  Johnson will be assisted by Dwayne Riley, Philip Hauge, and Tracy Herzog.  “I am very excited for the opportunity to coach these girls,” coach Justin Johnson said.  “I think there is a lot of potential here with this team, both now and in the future.”

The Saints lost only one player from last year’s team, Dacotah Rohner, so KMS should have a great chance at moving above .500 this season.

Lac qui Parle won the Camden North Conference title last year a 14-2 record, followed by MACCRAY (11-5), Dawson-Boyd (6-10), KMS (4-12), Prinsburg CMCS (3-13), and RCW (1-15).

KMS had two more games scheduled this week beginning with a game at MACCRAY, Tuesday (yesterday) and continuing with a home game Friday against Prinsburg CMCS...
