Roland Edward Hartmann was born in Fosston, Minnesota, December 9, 1973, the youngest child of Fred and Marjorie (Malecek) Hartmann.  He was baptized, made his first Holy Communion and confirmed at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Beaulieu, Minnesota.  Rolly attended St. Michael’s Catholic School through the 6th grade and graduated from Mahnomen High School with the Class of 1993.  Following graduation, he attended Thief River Falls Vo-Tech for Auto Body.  Shortly thereafter, Rolly began his career as a welder.  He started at Erskine Manufacturing, then spent a short time in Willmar, and was currently employed by Case New Holland Industrial in Benson, where he has worked for the past 20+ years.
