The Benson girls basketball team played a couple of the top teams in the area last week, which should help it get ready for the upcoming Section 3AA Tourney, set to begin Thursday, Feb. 22.

The Braves lost at Yellow Medicine East last Monday night, 91-54, and also fell to the state’s top-ranked Class AA team, Sauk Centre, 72-35, in a game played Friday in Benson.

The Braves fell to 3-19 overall and 1-10 in the conference with the two losses.  Only four more games remain on the regular-season schedule, including three this week.  Benson was set to play at BOLD, Tuesday, host Hancock, Thursday, and play at Montevideo, Friday.
