The meeting was called to order at 6:02 p.m. by Chair Chad Payne.  Members present:  Paul Carruth, Jodi DeJong-Hughes, Mary Langan, Bill McGeary, Chad Payne, Gary Williams.
Members absent:  None.  Also present:  Dennis Laumeyer, Mike Knutson, Brad Johnson, Dave Benson, Lori Eix, Ruth Arhndt, Jon Ahrndt, Phil Forbord.
Consent Agenda Items were approved as presented.
Progress Reports were presented by the administrators.
The board approved the agreement with Write Advantage to complete a communications audit to develop goals and strategies.
The board approved to set the Payable 2018 Levy at $1,402,462.97.
The board approved to move forward to have specs drawn up to make the north end of the civic center usable space for activities.
Discussion took place regarding new legislation this year stating school districts must offer a College Entrance Exam during the school day and exams are free for students who qualify for Free and Reduced Lunch (paid by the state).
The board adopted the Federal and Minnesota Resolutions to Fully Fund Special Education Services.
Minnesota public school districts are required to develop a World’s Best Work Force (WBWF) Plan that outlines goals and strategies to achieve the goals that meet five required areas. The 2017-2018 WBWF developed by the administrative team using data and needs assessment from previous years was included in the board’s packet and posted on the district website.
Options to address the auditorium and other facility improvements were discussed. A draft proposal for considering a May bond election was reviewed. Districts are limited by the legislature to only five election dates in February, April, May, August and November.
The board approved the bond development timeline proposal as presented.  
$1000 for Rose Skarsten Memorial Scholarship from Rosalyn Scott
$100 for Mary Lou Terwilliger Memorial Scholarship from Martha Baker
$3,700 to the Angel Fund from anonymous donors to help pay for negative lunch account balances
