Marilyn J. E. Nilson, age 85, of Murdock, died on Monday morning, August 14, 2017 at Bethesda Grand Nursing Home in Willmar. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 17, at 11:00 am, at Bethesda Lutheran Church north of Murdock. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the church on Thursday prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at the Bethesda Lutheran Church Cemetery.
 
Marilyn Judith Elaine Nilson was born on December 24, 1931, in Benson, Minnesota, the daughter of Evald and Martha (Mitteness) Anderson. She was baptized in Swift Falls, Minnesota and confirmed at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Murdock. She grew up in the rural Swift Falls Area and in 1938 she moved to the Murdock Area. She attended schools in Murdock then graduated from the Ag school in Morris, Minnesota. 
 
On August 25, 1956, Marilyn was united in marriage to Johan Elmer Nilson at Bethesda Lutheran Church by the Pastor Holms. This union was blessed with three children and over 39 years of marriage. They made their home in the Murdock Area. In 2008, she moved into the West Wind Apartments and in 2012 she moved to Bethesda Nursing Homes in Willmar. Marilyn worked in nursing homes. She was a member of the Dozenettes Home Makers Club the PTA, the Murdock Community Club, the Bethesda Lutheran Church, and the ELCW. She sold products for Stanley and Fuller Brush. She enjoyed reading. She was called from this life on Monday morning August 14, 2017 at the Bethesda Grand Nursing Home in Willmar. She attained the age of 85 years, 7 months, and 22 days.
 
Marilyn is survived by her sons Mark (Lynn) Nilson of Ogilvie and Harold Nilson of Murdock, a daughter in law Leone Nilson of St. Cloud, and several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren, and other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Johan in 1996, her parents Evald and Martha, and a son Glenn Steven Nilson.
