Connie Renae Diehl
February 6, 2017

Connie Renae Diehl was called from this life February 6, 2017.

Visitation will be held at St. Francis Catholic Church in Benson, Sunday, February 19 from 3-5 p.m.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 20 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Benson officiated by Father Steve Verhelst.

Connie is the daughter of Margaret “Peggy” Skarsten (Mortenson) and Lester Erickson of Benson.  Connie graduated from Benson High School in 1975 and attended Willmar Vocational & Technical School in Medical Transcription.  She worked for Affiliated Community Medical Center in Benson for 32 years before retiring.

Connie was enjoying her retirement traveling between condos and campgrounds and riding motorcycle with her husband Mark while visiting family and friends.  She loved coming home to her grandchildren, who she played with as often as she could. She always loved horses and would ride at every opportunity and in every location they traveled.  She enjoyed fishing and hunting with her family, as well as scuba diving and baking.  She was known for her famous jello and her calico beans at family gatherings. Prior to retirement, Connie and Mark enjoyed keeping up a huge garden and sharing produce with everyone around.

Connie is remembered by everyone for her jubilant personality, her contagious laugh, and her beautiful smile.  She truly brought light and life to everyone she met.  She was always willing to try new things and always looking for the next adventure.  She truly did live life to the fullest.  She was full of generosity, looking to help others in any way she could.

Connie was welcomed into Heaven by her first husband Mark Thole, her father Lester Erickson and her step-father Myron Skarsten.

She will be sadly missed by her husband Mark Diehl; her children Marcie Thole (Brian Black),  Josie (Paul) Syverson and Tony Thole; her grandchildren: Keagan & Camden Black, Tyson Thole, and Justine Syverson; and her siblings Sherrie (Butch) Thole , Chuck (Mary) Erickson, Jerry (Mary) Erickson, and Kathie Erickson (Ritchie Nelson); and many relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, we are requesting monetary donations to local organizations benefiting children.
