The Morris-Benson Area Lady Storm fell to Fargo Davies in the first game of the Marshall Invitational, 6-0, Friday, before also losing to Marshall in the third-place game, Saturday, 5-0.

Minnehaha United edged Marshall in the other semifinal game, Friday, 1-0, and Fargo Davies edged Minnehaha United for the Marshall Tourney championship, 3-2.

MBA is now ready to come home for seven of the next eight games, including four at the Benson Civic Center and three at Morris.  The home opener in Benson for the team, coached by first-year head coach Abby Daly and assisted by former head coach Jim Berens, is set for Saturday, Dec. 3 against Windom Area.

MBA then gets set to host Park Rapids, Thursday, Dec. 8, and Crookston, Friday, Dec. 9 at the Lee Community Civic Center in Morris.

Last year, MBA went 3-17 overall, including a 3-5 record within the Southwest Conference.   Watzke was the leading scorer last year with 16 total points on a team-high nine goals and seven assists, which tied her for the team lead with Kayla Benson.

Lindblad (12 points last year and 75 career points), Kelsey Rajewsky (11 points last year and 51 career points), and Benson (10 points last year) were the second through fourth-leading scorers in 2015-2016, while Micah Summer, an eighth-grader last year who is not out for hockey this season, and Megan Kirkeide, were fourth with six points each....
